By default, on power on or reset the IM23x intelligent motors are configured to execute the TML program located in the drive memory starting at address 0x4000. This is referred to as Autorun mode.

The Autorun mode can temporarily be disabled if pins 9 and 5 of the J2 connector are shorted before powering-on or resetting the drive. Disabling the Autorun mode can be used to restore communication with the IM23x intelligent motors, in case of TML program corruption leading to communication issues. The Autorun mode will be enabled again after removing the short between pins 9 and 5 of the J2 connector.
